The number of people undergoing weight loss surgery such as sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass is on the rise. Following the weight loss most people end up with considerable amount of loose skin in areas like the inner arms, abdomen and thighs. There are plastic surgery procedures to address these areas and allow patients to contour their body to the new thinner image. These procedures should be done by a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience in doing these procedures. Each patient should be evaluated and a plan is tailored to each individual. There is no cook book plastic surgery when it comes to these procedures since the plan has to be for each individual. Dr sawan has been performing these procedures for the past 9 years and has a passion for achieving the best possible result for the patients. These procedures are performed at Summit Medical Center in Edmond which is also a bariatric hospital. The two bariatric surgeons are Dr’s Greg Walton and Toby Broussard which have remarkable results and very low complication rates. You can check their website at www.weightwise.com

Breast augmentation is a very common procedure in plastic surgery. When people start searching for information and photo’s about the procedures they mistakenly become fixated with the volume of the implant in terms of how many CC’s because they saw a photo they liked of someone on the Internet. It is unfortunate that there no real straight forward way to translate cup sizes into CC’s or vice versa since most people want a certain cup size ( usually C cup). The decision on how many CC’s should be based on certain measurements of the breast to maintain a natural look and avoid long term complications related to big implants. Remember the bigger the implant the thinner the breast tissue gets and the more droopy things get! and the more rippling ( feeling the implant wrinkles).

So what is the solution? Listen to your plastic surgeon and their recommendation ( especially if they are honest and not just after your money) going too big might be a sure ticket for problems that are hard to fix.
